Join our dynamic Formula 1 team in Enstone, Oxfordshire, and be part of the excitement! We are looking for a Process Engineer Intern to work in our Quality & Efficiency and Supply Chain teams. This role would suit someone looking for a 12-month placement from September 2024.


The Role:

As a Process Engineering Intern, you will work closely with our team, gain exposure and experience in a wide range of activities including investigations to improve operational quality and supply chain efficiency.

You will review system control processes as well as capture requirements of future systems, identify gaps in processes to improve working procedures, report on outcomes and propose solutions. You will need to proactively support and develop proposals for change between departments and management that improves efficiency, processes, policies, and standards. You will work with quality, purchasing, stores, and manufacturing departments to improve operational and supply chain performance.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Analysis of different data sources to support qualitative discussions and the decision-making process
  • Provide support, awareness, and assistance throughout supply chain and manufacturing in development and execution of Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) and auditing of these multiple processes
  • Prepare reports to communicate outcomes of operational and supply chain activities
  • Participate and support projects within quality and supply chain operational departments
  • Develop product/component/part knowledge to create engineering and manufacturing processes to support the team in their daily activities
  • Develop processes accounting for risk to eliminate time and cost constraints while maintaining quality and operational efficiency
  • Preparing, presenting, and implementing process documentation and operating instructions


The Person:

  • An undergraduate student in at least second year, and on target for 2:1 or above
  • Able to create a positive profile for yourself and the department with a ‘can do’ approach
  • Strong multi-tasking and collaborative skills in order to support the team in developing solution-oriented processes for products not meeting design expectation
  • High performer with the ability to remain focused and objective under pressure, working to strict deadlines with minimum supervision
  • Self-motivated, proactive and well organised with an attention to detail
  • Take initiative and seek results in a structured way
  • Confident oral and written communicator to ensure appropriate information is understood, recorded, and passed to relevant parties
  • Able to learn to be persuasive and negotiate effectively in order to get people onside to resolves issues
