Williams Racing have just announced three exciting apprenticeship opportunities based at their headquarters at Grove in Oxfordshire.


Apprenticeship – Composites Department:

“As an Apprentice within our Composite teams, you’ll be part of a team involved from a concept design phase through to detailing of composite components and assemblies. You’ll support and have ownership of projects, incorporating manufacture, build, testing and racing, including fault analysis and resolution. You will develop or learn skills such as calculation work and the production of supporting documentation for factory and trackside.”

  • 4-year apprenticeship
  • Complete an Engineering Design and Draughtsperson Level 3 apprenticeship
  • Attend OAS in Culham, graduate as an Engineering Technician

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 GCSE’s at Grade C or above, including Maths and English.
  • A keen interest in STEM subjects is vital.
  • Good communication skills, a positive attitude to work and a mature outlook.
  • A flexible attitude to work and hours, and be a good team player.

Apprenticeship – Machining:

“As a Machinist Apprentice at Williams Racing you will be given the chance to work in both its manufacturing and prototype environments incorporating all types of Machining, Turning, 3 and 5-axis Milling and programming for a variety machine centres. You will be asked to manufacture various parts for the full size F1 car, 60 % model, and the associated jigs and fixtures for the Composite Manufacturing Department. These parts can be manufactured from a variety of Aerospace grade materials both metallic and non-metallic.”

  • 4-year apprenticeship
  • Attend OAS in Culham, graduate as an Engineering Technician

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 GCSE’s at Grade C or above, including Maths and English.
  • A keen interest in engineering is vital.
  • Good communication skills, a positive attitude to work and a mature outlook.
  • A flexible attitude to work and hours, and be a good team player.

Apprenticeship – Pattern Shop:

“The role of Apprentice within the Pattern Shop will encompass three disciplines which are basic pattern making, machining and programming. Throughout your time here as an apprentice you will gain an overview of pattern making and prepping in readiness to machine material and gain an in-depth understanding of Machining/Programming.”

  • 4-year apprenticeship
  • Attend OAS in Culham, graduate as an Engineering Technician
