About Formula Careers

Formula Careers is one of the world’s biggest motorsport careers platforms. Founded in 2017, we exist to help people who dream of working in Formula 1 and the wider motorsport industry figure out how to actually get there.

We know how hard it is to find clear, honest information about breaking into motorsport. There’s no straightforward path, career advisors rarely know the industry exists, and the whole thing can feel impossibly out of reach – especially if you don’t already have connections.

Formula Careers was built to change that.

 

Where it started

Formula Careers was founded by Louise McGrath after her daughter Rachel struggled to find any useful information about how to pursue a career in F1. The career advisors they spoke to had no idea about the motorsport industry. The information simply wasn’t out there.

So Louise built the resource she wished had existed.

Rachel, meanwhile, kept going. She studied Aeronautical Engineering at Loughborough University, secured a year-long student placement at AP Racing, and was offered a Graduate Design Engineer role on completion.

Formula Careers is run by Louise McGrath, a UK-based digital entrepreneur who has spent over a decade building the platform from scratch – with no prior motorsport industry connections, just a determination to make the information accessible to everyone who needs it, a passion for helping people believe in themselves and a belief that everyone has the right to follow their dreams.
