An opportunity has arisen for a Junior Control Systems Engineer to join the Jaguar TCS Racing department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment.

About the role

Working within the Controls Group to support the on-going development of our test hardware, processes and procedures.  With the sole aim of supporting the delivery of a world-class product to our race programs.

What you will do

  • Support the development of our in-house test rigs and vehicle control hardware software integration.
  • Work with the Controls and Systems Engineers to ensure test requirements are achieved and summarised;
  • Develop test methodologies to ensure we have comprehensive and repeatable hardware, software validation;
  • Write and maintain technical documentation to support the safe and efficient operation of hardware and systems;
  • Ensure all faults and issues are escalated.

About you

  • Have a basic understanding of vehicle dynamics principles
  • Have a basic understanding of electrified powertrains
  • A working knowledge of Matlab/Simulink within the context of closed loop controls systems
  • A working knowledge of Real-Time Simulation and Testing environments, dSPACE SCALEXIO, SpeedGoat or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with CAN and/or similar communication technologies.
  • The ability to work independently and under their own initiative, to strict deadlines when necessary.
  • To have a ‘can do’ proactive attitude and proactively support others.
  • The ability to complete tasks given within agreed time frames.
  • Flexible attitude to working hours.
  • Be available to travel to race and test events on an occasionally basis to support the development of our powertrain hardware.
