With major changes coming in 2026, including a new ECU, electronic architecture, power unit, and gearbox, the team leads these projects. You’ll design electronics for the wind tunnel, R&D, and the driver-in-the-loop simulator, working on instrumentation and integrating electronic systems on test rigs.

We’re seeking a student studying electronic engineering or a related field, passionate about F1, problem-solving and innovation.

Performance Analysis

As a Performance Analysis Industrial Placement, you’ll support both current and future car development within the Performance Engineering Group. You’ll conduct Vehicle Simulations to enhance car performance and develop data analysis tools to visualise key performance parameters. This role suits those with a keen interest in Vehicle Dynamics, Physics, Data Science, and Coding, with a chance to provide insights that drive real-world performance improvements.

Performance Optimisation

In the Performance Optimisation Industrial Placement, you’ll help optimise car setup and support race events from Mission Control. You’ll automate existing simulation tools and create custom visualisations in Python to enhance data-driven decision-making. This role offers exposure to vehicle performance, making it ideal for those interested in aerodynamics, tyres, or suspension optimisation.

Engineering Software

You’ll help develop and support of bespoke software solutions, including databases, microservices, web, and desktop applications. Our tools are used by engineers and technicians across departments at AMF1, such as aerodynamics, race car design, part production, and the race team. You’ll enhance our applications by adding new features, fixing bugs, and improving performance, working across the entire product lifecycle, from user requirements to design, coding, testing, and deployment. Within weeks, you’ll make meaningful contributions to our software suite, delivering solutions that help AMF1 build a world championship-winning car.

Performance Software

Working within Performance Engineering, you will play an active role in supporting our engineers during live events, as well as with post-session analysis, with the aim of swiftly providing data to our engineers to inform their decision making.
